Aanii!

Zaawmiknaang (translated "place of the brown beaver”) is more than just a cozy little craft store-it offers the opportunity to learn, relax, and sample traditional Native culinary delights.

The outdoor eatery offers traditional meals in addition to the standard Canadian chip wagon fare.

Tee Pee and Cabin for overnight accommodations for the more adventurous tourists are available. These traditional abodes do not come with artificial indoor plumbing or air conditioning, but rely on natural methods of circulating air throughout the structure to ensure a comfortable stay.

Looking for something to do? Try an outdoor demonstration where you will learn how to cook your own “bannock”, learn how to pitch a Teepee, Women Hand Drumming, or take Ojibway language lessons which thrives on Manitoulin Island and also other Native traditional workshops are available on request. Call us for dates and times.

ZAAWMIKNAANG is Member of Great Spirit Circle Trail.
